Public Committees Formed to Address Wild Boar Menace in Mukkam
Mukkam: Public committees have been formed in various wards of Mukkam Municipality to find a permanent solution to the increasingly severe wild boar menace in different parts of the municipality. The committee meetings decided to take strong measures to address the issue, which poses a serious threat to the lives and property of residents as well as to agricultural activities.
The meetings also decided to take immediate steps to clear all overgrown plots and premises, both privately owned and otherwise, where wild boars may find shelter. It was also agreed that, with the necessary legal permissions in place and subject to favourable weather conditions, wild boars would be hunted and removed with public participation.
The public committee formation meetings held in the Thottinkadavu and Thoongampuram areas of the municipality were attended by Municipal Chairperson Adv. K. P. Chandni, Deputy Chairperson C. A. Pradeep Kumar, Standing Committee Chairpersons Abdul Azeez Varpil and Rashid Kunnath, municipal councillors, Agricultural Officer Shabeer Ahmed, leaders of various political and social organisations, farmers, empanelled shooters, and members of the public.
